These medications work by affecting blood flow; pushing the blood to the penis, making it easier to achieve and maintain an erection.

Other treatment options for ED include vacuum devices, which use suction to draw blood into the penis, and penile injections, which involve injecting medication directly into the penis. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to implant a prosthetic device that can help to achieve an erection.
